Today, Joostrap released a brand new backbone code revamp. This brings lot's of improvement, bug fixes and some super sexy enhancements to the users whole experience. Along with lot's of exciting stuff, some of the main items are a new off canvass mobile navigation, infinite colour changes and a brand new carousel module.
As a romantic at heart I am super happy to see the amazingly responsive love affair between Bootstrap 3 and Joomla develop and become more serious. I can only hope the same for my kids as they grow and start their own tentative relationships, flirtatious at first and the love affair become more serious.
What better time for a mobile first Joomla relationship to evolve than in the lead up to Valentines day?
On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd March 2014, the Dutch Joomla! Days are taking part.
I will be boarding my flight on the Friday, grabbing a coffee with Brian Teeman at Schiphol airport. We will then be picked to by some of the event organiser's to make our way to the event location/hotel.
Did you know that not only does our new site look a lot prettier, there's a lot more than just pretty looks and awesome responsive design that's gone into it .... and it is all to benefit you - our friends, members and customers. And you know what ... I am super-excited with what we've got planned to improve the value that all involved will get from Joostrap, our templates, support and community.
So why are we favouring Bootstrap v3 to the old Bootstrap v2 on all of our new templates?
Bootstrap v3 introduced a new “flat” design, which serves two important functional purposes. The new version strips away some of the aesthetic flourishes which makes it easier to customise for your own & clients websites. Secondly, it dramatically improves the 'repaint' time, basically meaning how long it takes the browser to “draw” all the elements on a webpage.
